As usual, President Donald Trump made the wrong decision. He ignores the plight of hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing war and human rights abuses. Instead, he granted well-fed white South Africans the ability to come to this country (“Trump sets 7,500 annual limit for refugees entering US. It’ll be mostly white South Africans,” Oct. 30).

Trump seems to forget the horror created by apartheid in South Africa when the majority population was denied basic rights. To suggest that the white South Africans are facing discrimination has a tinge of racism attached to the statement. I have no hope that Trump will ever make the right decision.
